Fly fishing the Missouri River
Location
Located just north of Helena, Montana, lies the Missouri River. We fish several sections of this beautiful tail-water river.
Trout Species
This river is home to true trophy trout. You can find both Brown and Rainbow trout in the waters below Holter Dam.
Trout Size
An average rainbows on the Missouri are between 16" and 20". Browns are not too far behind!
Fly Types
For a majority of the year the trout are on a high protein diet of scuds and sowbugs, but the true magic are the variety of mayfly hatches.
Your Day
A day on the Missouri is something special. This is fly fishing Montana. Target trophy trout from the boat with a stop for lunch half way through!
