The Boulder River originates in the Absorka-Beartooth Wilderness and flows north through the town of Big Timber and into the Yellowstone River.
Rainbow and brown trout dominate the Boulder River with a few Whitefish. Above the Natural Bridge, anglers can find Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout.
Rainbow and brown trout typically averaging 15" with occasional brown trout 20"+
During the summer and spring months an angler can fish baetis, PMD's, stoneflies, terrestrials, and caddis.
Welcome to whitewater fly fishing at it's best! The Boulder River is too rugged for drift boats so we fish out whitewater rafts. Anglers need to be experienced to keep up with this fast paced action!
