The Bighorn is a major tributary of the Yellowstone approiximately 3 hours from Bozeman, MT.
Below the Yellowtail Dam, the river is a world class tailwater fishery home to brown and rainbow trout.
The 'Horn has good numbers of trout and a huge size variety. From 12"-22", they're all in the river.
The river bottom is crawling with mayflies, worms, midge larva, leeches and freshwater crustaceans.
Nymphing in and out of the boat is most productive, while head hunting for rising trout along the way.
